In the field of computer vision,3D reconstruction of complex curved object from single line drawing is an active research subject.In order to better understand 3D entity denoted by 2D line drawing for human,a lot of work is devoted to automatic 3D reconstruction from 2D image by computer,so as to rebuild the more vulnerable 3D shape that human vision can perceived.An important method of 3D reconstruction is reconstruct 3D shapes from 2D line drawings which is extracted from objects.Although the extracted line drawings is made up of 2D vertices and edges,there are a good deal of information of geometric structure of objects.While objects contain curved surfaces,there may be some curves in 2D line drawings to which the objects be projected.It will be more difficult for restoring the objects that contains curved surfaces.3D reconstruction is an important research direction in the field of computer graphics,a lot of researchers put forward many effective methods,and 3D reconstruction have achieved success in many ways,Under the new situation of rapid development of computer science and other disciplines,the existing research achievements are still insufficient.The primary deficiencies are as follows:(1)In general,a number of researches are devoted to 3D reconstruction,but the further research is very little,The proposed method has significant limitations.(2)The algorithms of 3D reconstruction for simple planar object are efficient and simple,they can restore 3D shapes in a very short time.While 2D line drawings become complex,such as entity that contain holes,the efficiency and accuracy of these algorithms will be decreased acutely.(3)Regulations can increase accuracy of algorithm,however,too much regulations will increase the computing time.This article is to restoring complex curved objects from line drawings,previous work mostly restore planar objects or simple curved objects,but they usually cannot handle complex curved objects.we propose a new method of 3D reconstruction of complex curved object.Our method include three steps:(1)separating complex line drawing into several simple line drawings,and transforming them into polyhedrons;(2)restoring 3D shapes from transformed line drawings;(3)generating the curved surfaces by Bezier patches,and merging every objects.
