With the continuous development of industrial automation,the demand of based on visual monitoring system and image processing system continues to grow.They have important applications in the field of public transportation,safety monitoring,environmental monitoring,industrial detection,satellite and experiment and so on.At present video surveillance system,the application of FPGA processing is not a lot of.Because of the ability of FPGA,DSP and other processing chips becoming more and more strong in Embedded system,especially FPGA's parallel processing advantage,Some pixel level complex algorithm in FPGA can be easily done in real time,such as video codec,edge detection,edge detection and so on..So the FPGA will become a banner in the field of video surveillance in the future.This article deeply analyzes the field programmable gate array(FPGA)of the basic structure and working mode,and put forward the plan of using FPGA parallel processing advantages to accomplish the construction and implementation of the real-time monitoring system and achieve gray-scale,edge detection,image corrosion expansion algorithm in real time.These get better edge detection results.The system uses the ALTERA company's Cyclone IV series as the core processing chip to drive OV7725 camera.It carries on the algorithm processing of Format conversion,gray scale,edge detection,dilation and erosion and so on to the collection data,achieving driver VGA real-time display at last.Compared with the traditional system,the system has the advantages of good reconfiguration,good real-time performance,flexible design,fast processing speed and so on.System is mainly divided into image acquisition module,preprocessing module,edge detection module,cross clock domain and image cache module,VGA display module and so on.It uses Verilog HDL language to realize the programming of each module,completes test and board level implementation on II Quartus platform,deeply analyzes FPGA implementation of data interaction,edge detection,and dilation and erosion algorithm about OV7670 camera output video stream in different clock domains to achieve cross clock domain especially,uses Modelsim and Signal Tap II software for simulation and board level debugging.The research results show that can accomplish real-time monitoring and edge detection algorithm real-time in complex FPGA hardware platform efficiently.The use of gray image edge detection,corrosion expansion algorithm makes the effect more smooth and clear,meeting the requirements of complex high precision monitoring and control security,aerospace field image processing in real time.It has a high theoretical and applied value for the study of the complex algorithms,such as target recognition,detection,navigation and guidance.
