Owing to the advantages of ultra-broadband,high brightness and high spatial coherence,the supercontinuum source has been widely applied in optical coherent photography technology,spectroscopy analysis,biological imaging,optical coherence tomography,wavelength division multiplexing optical communication systems,etc.Further research on the mechanism of supercontinuum generation,it is not only important for academic,but also valuable for practical application.The main contents of this paper are shown as follows:1.The development of passively mode-locked ytterbium-doped fiber lasers based on saturable absorbers,the development of gain-switched semiconductor lasers,the development of supercontinuum sources,and the characteristics of photonic crystal fibers are briefly introduced.2.The pulse seed source with a center wavelength of 1030.28 nm and a pulse width of 4.6 ps was fabricated by SESAM-based pasively mode-locked technique.The average power of the pulse laser was amplified to 8.62 W by using a three-stage MOPA fiber amplifier.And then the high peak power pulse is employed to pump the 8-m PCF which has a zero dispersion wavelength at 1030 nm.Finally,a supercontinuum source with the bandwidth of 1740 nm(460~2200 nm)and the output power of 3.51 W was obtained.3.The pulse seed source with a center wavelength of 1064.32 nm and a pulse width of 13.6 ps was fabricated by SESAM-based passively mode-locked technique.The average power of the pulse laser was amplified to 13.50 W by using a three-stage MOPA fiber amplifier.And then the high peak power pulse is employed to pump the 8-m PCF which has a zero dispersion wavelength at 1030 nm,and a supercontinuum source with the bandwidth of 1750 nm(450~220 nm)and the output power of 3.65 W was obtained.4.The dual-wavelength noise-like pulse fiber laser was fabricated by SESAMbased mode-locked technique with center wavelengths of 1064.15 nm and 1064.98 nm,respectively.The average power of the pulse laser was amplified to 17.10 W by using a four-stage MOPA fiber amplifier,and then was used to pump the 4-m PCF and the 8-m PCF which has a zero dispersion wavelength at 1030 nm.When the 4-PCF is pumped,at the maximum of the incident power of 12.18 W,a wide and flat SC with a total output power of 7.09 W and an optical conversion efficiency of 58.21% is achieved which spans over 1910 nm(450~2360 nm),and the power stability has been increased to 0.51%.When the 8-m PCF is pumped,a supercontinuum source with 1754 nm(446 ~ 2200 nm)bandwith and 4.04 W output power is obtained.The 3-dB bandwidth(ignore the residual pump power and the ASE light)of the spectrum over 1740 nm(460 ~ 2200 nm),which accounting for 99.20% of the total spectrum bandwidth.5.The noise-like pulse seed source with a central wavelength of 1052.99 nm is obtained by using the gain-switching technique.The average power of the pulse source is amplified up to 16.91 W by using a four-stage MOPA fiber amplifier,which was then employed to pump the 4-m,the 5-m and the 8-m PCF with a zero dispersion wavelength at 1030 nm.At the repetition rate of 5 MHz,the shortest wavelength reached 415 nm(8 m PCF).To further broaden the spectrum and increase the blue-shift,we reduce the pulse repetition rate to 2 MHz,and finally,the supercontinuum source with the shortest wavelength of 390 nm(4 m PCF)is obtained,which is made into a supercontinuum source equipment.
