Electronic image stabilization is based on digital image processing technology to remove jitter of video sequence,so as to improve the quality of picture.This technique uses digital processors to remove jitter of video sequence.It can make full use of the advantages of modern large-scale and over large-scale integrated circuits and reduce the volume and power consumption of the image stabilization system.Because of the large amount of image data,it will consume a lot of time in computation,and the computational speed and complexity of the algorithm should be taken into account.In this dissertation,the main considerations are image motion parameter estimation accuracy,algorithm complexity,and Implementation on embedded platform FPGA.Firstly,the dissertation introduces the basic principle of electronic image stabilization system and divides motion of image into translational motion and rotational motion.For the estimation of translational motion parameters,this dissertation analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of epresentative point matching method,bit plane matching method,gray matching projection method and phase correlation method.Because these methods can not achieve good results in terms of parameter estimation accuracy,computation time complexity,and interference immunity,this dissertation optimizes block matching method,as a result,the advantages of high precision of parameter estimation and resistance to small amplitude rotation are preserves,and greatly reduces the computational complexity.Then,in this dissertation an annular projection algorithm based on template filtering is proposed to estimate the complex motion parameters of images.When the image contains the rotation motion,pixel relative position will be changed.The gray histogram and polar projection of rotation invariant feature are selected for experimental analysis and propose ring projection algorithm based on template filtering which extend circle projection.The method has the characteristics of rotation invariance,besides the computation time complexity is greatly decreased as compared with the former two methods.Finally,the hardware system of electronic image stabilization is built.which consists of a camera,an image acquisition card and a LCD monitor.In this paper,the design of image acquisition card circuit and Verilog program design are introduced in detail.The function modules of SDI data stream analysis,SSRAM read and write control,image motion parameter estimation and image motion parameter filtering are realized on the FPGA,and the correctness of each module is verified.In the actual test,the electronic image stabilization hardware system can achieve a resolution of 1080 p,frame rate of 30 fps video real-time image stabilization.
