The vision is the main way to get information from the outside world for human.The loss of vision not only causes trouble to the blind's traveling,but also makes the life of the blind people can not be guaranteed.With the development of science and technology,electronic guide device becomes an integral part of the lives of blind people.At present,the electronic guide device,mostly achieved in the single-chip system.The system performance is limited by hardware so that the guide devices usually have single function such as obstacle detecting.The development of the electronic guide system on the embedded platform can realize more functions,such as blind navigation,traffic information recognition,which provides more comprehensive service for the blind.In this paper,the shortcomings and deficiencies of existing blind guide device are analyzed.Combining with the existing relevant theories and technologies,this blind guide system is based on the ARM platform.After the analysis of the demand of the blind,the correlative technology in the blind guide system is studied,including the embedded development process,the ultrasonic distance measurement and the GPS navigation theory.According to the functional requirements of the system,we put forward a design scheme of modular blind function realization,including ultrasonic obstacle detection module,GPS blind navigation module,human-computer interaction module,wireless search module.In this paper,we use 3 ultrasonic sensors to detect the obstacle in the three-dimension environment.In the blind navigation,we pick up the key point of navigation route to simplify the computing complexity.The system uses the volume and the frequency to tell the position and direction information to the blind,which is also the innovate point of this paper.According to the analyze of the system requirements,the Exynos4412 is chosen to be the CPU chip.The ultrasonic transmitting and receiving circuit,GNS7560 external circuit,wireless remote control circuit are analyzed.The printed circuit board is made and we test the several function modules combining the software system.According to the test results and the feedback of the blind users,the design can provide effective help for th e blind.
