The NP-Network Processor is a kind of device used in the network field.It mainly deals with the processing of network tasks such as network data frame processing,protocol analysis and route lookup,which greatly improves the speed and capability of the network processor.According to the flexibility's need the FPGA-based network processor sets to enhance the application.At the same time,FPGA programmability is an increase of product life in the market.Multi-core network processor as the latest third-generation network processor has a strong performance.Therefore,in the FPGA platform to achieve the network processor is the focus of today's research.This thesis deeply studies and analyzes the types,modes and methods of network data frame processing,and designs a packet forwarding module,a packet filtering module,and a packet switching module that implement the network processor in parallel using FPGA.In the process of project design,firstly,the concept,function and technology of network processor are analyzed.Then,the network processor system architecture is designed for the project,and the network is implemented on the FPGA platform.Processor part of the function,and carried out simulation verification;Finally set up a test environment,tested the system's various functions.The test results show that the system can accomplish the expected function of the project well,and it has some reference value for the application of network processor.
