With the development of space technology, higher and higher data transfer rate in air-to-ground and air-to-air is required in manned spacecraft, space stations and other complicated spacecraft. In this case, in order to improve the reliability of data transmission in space communications, to ensure the consistency of receiving and sending system, a frame synchronization system is needed. In satellite base-band signal processing, the frame synchronization is the first and key step. Only after frame synchronization can the system obtain correct data to process. Therefore, the satellite base-band signal processing results is affected directly by the efficiency of frame synchronization.After studying the theory of CCSDS standards and frame synchronization algorithm, single-channel input and dual- combined input frame synchronization algorithm was implemented on FPGA-based hardware platform with the help of ISE9.2i development platform. In this design, promblem of frame-slip and frame-ambiguity was also solved. On this basis, a two parallel frame synchronization algorithm was advanced for dual-combined input to solve the possible problem of ambiguity changing caused by frame-slip. At the end, logic simulation and timing simulation was made on ModelSim SE 6.1f, and the simulation results proved that the algorithm mentioned above have met design requirements.In this thesis, research background and current research at home and abroad was introduced firstly, followed by the introduction of the related basic theories and the system structure of hardware and software. And then the implyment of the implement of single-channel data input frame synchronization, the dual-combined data input frame synchronization and two-way parallel frame synchronization was introduced in detail, with the timing simulation and results analysis. Finally, a summary of the whole design was maked, existed problems concerning the work was analyzed, and some prospects for future research was presented.
