Energy consumption is one of the key considerations of the cloud computing center.However,in the existing cloud computing environment,due to the dynamic expansion of services,the workload of some nodes is too low,leading to the problem of resources being idle and energy waste.In addition,virtual machine migration technology in the cloud computing platform can not guarantee either "uninterrupted" service or high robustness.Thus,it is necessary to research the technology of virtual machine live migration for energy-saving in cloud computing environment.A live migration technology of virtual machines for energy-saving is researched.Aiming at the problem of only single performance parameter of node's workload rate,a method of calculating the workload rate of node is proposed,which is more flexible for fulfilling different application requirements.For the energy-saving target,considering the migration number of virtual machine,based on the resource scheduling rules proposed,the virtual machine is selected to be migrated,and matched the best target node.In term of the virtual machine migration technology,the existing migration technology can not guarantee either "uninterrupted" service or high robustness.To cope with this problem,a live migration technology of the virtual machine based on the memory hybrid copy is put forward.The technology ensures the "uninterruption" and robustness of service provisioning through reducing the memory page loss by giving priority to the memory page from the local,while further reducing the total virtual machine migration time by reducing the memory page transmission time.After all the migration work is completed,the zero workload nodes are closed to achieve the purpose of energy-saving.Based on OpenStack,an open source cloud computing platform,the virtual machine migration prototype system for energy-saving is achieved.Tests are performed on the performance of energysaving efficiency and virtual machine live migration in the prototype system.The test results show that virtual machine live migration based on OpenStack oriented for energy-saving can achieve a transparent service in the process of virtual machine migration and reach the goal of energy-saving.
