Aiming at the problems such as waste of core network bandwidth resources and non-scalability which caused by flooding to learn remote MAC addresses between tenant's virtual machines that located in different physical sites of data centers,based on the development project called “BGP support EVPN technology” when I worked as an intern in a company and by means of its software development platform,this thesis uses top-down structured design method to simplify the EVPN network model as well as separates EVPN control plane from data plane by analyzing the demands of EVPN protocol,meanwhile studies the learning mode of MAC/ARP,the creation way of VXLAN tunnel and the loop avoidance of user side in multi-homing network,then using black box test method to verifying the design results.The main work of the academic paper is as follows:(1)Hierarchical design of BGP EVPN.On the basis of simplified EVPN network model,this dissertation analyzes the existing EVPN protocol and relative drafts,then designs BGP EVPN sub address family,five kinds of EVPN routes and the processing of BGP EVPN update message for EVPN control plane,gives the forwarding method of data message according to VXLAN principle for EVPN data plane,adopts inter-module functions relatively independent design scheme and top-down structured design method to complete the interaction between main modules for EVPN overall architecture design simultaneously.(2)Functions realization of BGP EVPN.C language programming is used to design the process procedure of each functional modules decomposed of EVPN system.The management function of MAC/ARP addresses is completed by designing MAC/ARP learning,VM migration and ARP flood suppression.The automatic creation and deletion functions of VXLAN tunnel is achieved through IMET route mode or MAC/IP route and IP Prefix route mode.And DF election combined with the horizontal segmentation mechanism implements the redundant backup and load sharing functions in EVPN multi-homing network.(3)Software testing and results analysis.Basic functions and data forwarding capability based on EVPN layer 2 network,centralized gateway network and distributed gateway network are tested on the interface graphical full-function network simulation software HCL,while specifications and compressive capacity are tested on the environment set up by high-end two or three switches like S12500-X,9800 equipment and tester TC.The experimental result shows that entries synchronization by MP-BGP can flexibly control the learning process of remote MAC/ARP,simplify network configuration and improve the utilization rate of link resources,so it meets the requirements of data center interconnection and shows well expansibility.
