Direction of arrival(DOA)estimation based on single snapshot is subordinated to the spatial spectrum estimation in array signal processing,it plays an important role in the process of spatial spectrum estimation from theory to engineering.Main work on this issue in the paper is stated as follows:Firstly,by analyzing the relationship between the number of snapshots and the correlation coefficient of the source, the correlation between the estimation of the correlation coefficient and the estimation of the DOA,the intrinsic causes of the influence of the snapshots change on DOA estimation are studied. Finally, the problem of DOA estimation based on single snapshot, which is the extreme case of small sample size,is transformed to the DOA estimation of coherent sources.Secondly, for the one-dimensional DOA estimation of coherent sources, the data reconstruction algorithm and smoothing algorithm for uniform linear array are used to solve the problem of the decorrelation estimation of the DOA with the non-uniform linear array,a data reconstruction algorithm for the non-uniform linear array is proposed. Then, for the problem of two-dimensional DOA estimation of coherent sources, the model space transform algorithm is used to solve it under the circular array.By using the extended characteristic of higher order cumulants, this problem under the uniform ring array can also be solved. Finally, for DOA estimation of coherent sources in non-coherent interference scenarios, the beam nulling technique is used to suppress the interference, and the data reconstruction algorithm is used to solve the DOA estimation of the coherent sources to achieve DOA estimation based on single snapshot data.
