Ultraviolet (UV) communication is a kind of non-line-of-sight (NLOS) communication through atmospheric particle scattering. It not only has the advantages of high security and strong anti-interfere noe ability, but also has the advantages of short communication distance. Ad hoc network is a multi-hop, non-centered, self-organizing wireless network with no fixed infrastructure. All nodes are mobile and can dynamically maintain the contact with other nodes in any way. Because Ad hoc network and ultraviolet communication have their own unique advantages, the combination of the wireless Ad hoc network and UV communication makes multi-hop Ad hoc ultraviolet communication network expand the scope of information transmission. And a good solution to the limitations of the transmission distance of UV communication is proposed, During the construction of wireless ultraviolet Ad hoc network,coverage control can effectively enhance the network coverage, reduce the network deployment cost and optimize the network connectivity. In this paper, the coverage control algorithm in wireless ultraviolet Ad hoc network is studied for the non-line-of-sight ultravioletcommunication technolbgy. The specific research contents are as follows:(1) At first, the research background and significance of this topic are described. Then the related concepts of wireless ultraviolet network, the coverage control and networking technology and their research status at home and abroad are introduced.(2) Aiming at the randomness of nodes' position in wireless UV Ad hoc network, a Graded Area Coverage Optimization Algorithm Based on genetic algorithms (GACOA) is proposed to enhance the coverage. The wireless UV communication network, which meets the requirements,can be constructed quickly and accurately using GACOA. Meanwhile, the deployment cost of UV Ad hoc network is cut down and its coverage is higher than random deployment.(3) Taking transmitting and receiving elevation angle, transmitting power, data rate, bit error rate, modulation mode and noise model on communication network performance(coverage and connectivity) in three-dimensional wireless UV Ad hoc network into consideration, a Networking Strategy of three-dimensional wireless ultraviolet communication network (UVNNS) is designed to enhance the coverage and connectivity of the wireless Ad Hoc network in the presence of obstacles. Experimental results show that UVNNS is an effective and reliable networking scheme. And PPM and Poisson noise model should be used preferentially in 3D wireless UV Ad hoc networks.In conclusion, the wireless ultraviolet Ad hoc network coverage control algorithm proposed in this paper can construct a wireless ultraviolet Ad hoc communication network with high coverage, low deployment cost and good connectivity in particular target areas.
