The Application Of Barcode Recognition Technology In Express Sorting

With the rapid development of e-commerce and express industry at home and abroad,the market demand for the efficiency and accuracy of express sorting is getting higher and higher.Currently,part of express companies' express sorting system has been partially automated,but the collection of sorting information still requires manual operation.Use the handheld laser scanner to recognize the address information of the bar code,and then control the sorting machine to complete the classification of express according to the address information.This artificial method can not satisfy the ever-increasing amount of express in long and efficient way,especially when electric business promotion leads to the warehouse filled with expresses,which will make the violent sorting events occur frequently.In order to improve the automation degree of the express sorting system,the express image acquisition platform is designed,using the method of image processing to realize the automatic recognition of express address information.Aimed at the problem of the angle inclination and geometric distortion of the bar code area in the collected image.The images are firstly reconstructed by the tilt correction and the perspective transformation.Then,according to the geometrical features and the unidirectional texture features of the bar code,the image processing operations such as morphological,rectangular contour fitting and maximum rectangle segmentation are used to effectively segment the bar code area from the express image background.Finally,according to the codipg principle of bar code,the method of calculating the width of the bar is used to realize the decoding,obtain the bar code digital information,and interact with the express query website to obtain the express address information.Based on image processing and network communication method to identify the express address information,a large number of express images are collected to conduct the relevant experiments.The results show that the method can realize the extraction,the decoding and the address recognition of any angle bar code on the express images,and the recognition success rate is high.It provides an effective method for realizing the fully automated sorting system,and has certain practical application value.
