As the development of network technology, the continuous expansion of network scale and the emergence of multimedia service, users have higher demand on the quality of service provided by space network. There are several factors that can be found to improve the performance of space network, such as high dynamic, long distance and high delay. In this thesis,we use stochastic network calculus(SNC)as the theoretical analysis tool to analyze some parameters which influence the performance of inter-satellite links and end-to-end satellite communication. To analyze the performance of inter-satellite links, firstly,we use STK/MATLAB software tools to collect the satellite orbit parameters of LEO inter-satellite links to calculate the relative distance between a pair of LEO satellites. On this basis, through analyzing the fading characteristic of Inter-satellite channel, such as free space loss,Doppler frequency shift and noise,we develop a stochastic service curve model which uses Finite-state Markov chain model(FSMC)to describe the fading satellite channel and adopt adaptive modulation coding(AMC)technology to select the appropriate signal to noise ratio(SNR)threshold. Then,we propose a periodical arrival model on the basis of characteristic of spatial data traffic flow. Finally, with the combination of the above two curve modes,we derive the influence of actual parameters(orbit altitude, distance, etc.)of inter-satellite link on delay and backlog bounds. And to evaluate the performance of end-to-end satellite network, firstly,we map LEO/MEO network structure into a tandem queuing system.Based on the deep analyzing of the traffic characteristics of multi-layered satellite network, the stochastic arrival curve of Poisson and self-similar model is proposed.Secondly,we build a stochastic service curve model which use Gilbert-Elliott model to describe the fading satellite channel.Clearly, the end-to-end performance bounds can be obtained by combining the first two curves with the basic features of SNC.Thirdly, the numerical analysis shows that this tool can clearly depict the functional relations between these parameters and performance bounds. In our work,we apply SNC to analyze the performance of inter-satellite links and end-to-end communication in space network, which provide theoretical reference for the planning and construction of space network.
