In free-space laser communication, atmospheric turbulence causes pulse broadening in the time domain when the laser is transmitted in the atmosphere channel. The higher the transmission rate of the optical communication system, the smaller the interval between symbols and the wider the overlap of the laser pulses,To further improve the performance of the optical communication system. In this paper, the pulse broadening characteristics of high-speed laser turbulence propagation are analyzed theoretically and empirically. The phase screen of the Kolmogorov turbulence theory is generated by the fast Fourier transform method, and the low-frequency statistics of the phase screen is improved by using the low-frequency harmonic compensation method.characteristic.Based on the generated phase screen, the collimated laser is simulated by Kolmogorov turbulence through step-by-step transmission method. The pulse broadening under different atmospheric turbulence intensities and the influence of pulse broadening on the performance of the communication system are analyzed. The simulation results show that the turbulence effect of different atmospheric turbulence intensity: light intensity fluctuation, beam expansion and beam drift are obtained by the simulation of the light intensity fluctuation, beam propagation and beam drift of the high-speed laser after atmospheric turbulence. The relationship between the pulse broadening and the beam spreading, the intensity fluctuation and the beam drift is obtained. The relationship between the pulse broadening and the beam broadening is also studied by the simulation of the pulse broadening of the high speed laser. The research work of this paper has some instructive significance for the development and research of atmospheric laser communication.
