All-optical switch has been developed rapidly in recent years as it is the core of device in the civil field.In this paper,we have mainly studied the optimization of all-optical switching performance based on photochromic film,constructed the new conception optical switches based on spirooxazine and explored the prospect of them in the field of laser protection applications.Details are as follows:(1)First,the spirooxazine/silicon dioxide films with excellent optical reversibility were prepared.For the disconnected process,photo-erasure and thermal-erasure were applied.Then,we found that a shorter response time was obtained in photo-erasure.Further,the dependence of the power of the exciting light was studied.The results showed that the optimum switching characteristics appeared at 10 mW.(2)We realized the near-ultraviolet gated optical switch and polarization-sensitive optical switch based spirooxazine/polymethyl methacrylate films in the experiment of new concept switches.We realized the former based on the instantaneous increase of diffraction efficiency instantaneously when the blue-violet light switching from “on” to “off”;the latter was realized by the significant difference of the diffraction efficiency between the irradiation of s-s and s-p polarization configurations.(3)The excited state molecular aggregates were gradually formed and had strong light absorption by the increase of irradiation time in the irradiation experiment of near-ultraviolet intense light,which indicated that spirooxazine-based film has ability of laser protection.
