With the rapid development of Internet and the innovation of multimedia technology, the multimedia data security algorithms have attracted more and more attention in the recent years which makes that a large number of image encryption methods and watermarks schemes are proposed. So far,the image encryption and watermark techniques have widely been applied to many aspects, such as medical, commercial, governmental and personal information security systems. In this paper, the encryption and watermark methods based on the optimization procedure are mainly discussed. The primary work can be summarized as follows:First, an image encryption method based on genetic algorithm is proposed. In this algorithm, Logistic maps and DNA sequences are utilized to generate initial population.Based on constant population quantity, DNA masks are calculated by using genetic algorithm in which the optimal DNA mask can be found by comparing the entropy values. Simulation results show the encryption scheme has excellent encryption and decryption effectiveness and can resist regular attacks effectively which dramatically improved the system security.Second,a novel watermark technique is developed by using harmony search algorithm to get the optimal reference image. The obtained image and watermark image are decomposed by SVD method, and the singular value of watermark is embedded into the SVD domain of reference image which is performed the inverse process. Finally, the reference image is segmented into several pieces which would be embedded into host image.Experimental results verify the scheme not only has good embedded and extraction effectiveness but also can be against to various attacks , which means the proposed method has high security and robustness.
