With the development of science and technology and the improvement of living standard, people pay more and more attention to the quality of life. The appearance of smart home satisfies the need of people to a great extent. Smart home music system, regarded as a subsystem of the smart home, is a concentrated expression for people to seek high quality of life. As the core of intelligent home music systems, the network audio player plays a vital role. The research focus of this paper is on the basis of the existing home network resources to achieve high fidelity audio playback and provide a convenient interactive experience.This paper analyzes the existing network audio player at home and abroad, and then points out the shortcomings of the existing network audio player.The current chanllenges are mainly reflected in:(1) Most of the solutions adopt software decoding, which result in low efficiency and high system resource consumption.(2) They lack a unified and open network communication protocol, which limit the development of the third party applications. To solve the above problems, This paper presents a high-fidelity audio player based on Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA), then designed a network audio playback control protocol.Firstly,to achieve the hardware decoding of FLAC and WAV lossless audio file, the audio hardware decoder that based on FPGA was be design by using the Quartus ? development platform. This decoder also has I~2 S and SPDIF digital audio output interface. The audio hardware decoder can be used as the IP core, which can improve the decoding performance of lossless audio player in the system on chip(SoC) scheme. On the basis of this, this paper constructs the hardware system of the high fidelity audio player based on FPGA.Nextly, this paper designed another kind of network audio player control protocol. This protocol can realize the sharing of resources among player, computer, mobile phone and other terminals. this network audio player control protocol is applied to play control software that on the Android platform and Window platform, it can realize the network play and network audio on demand function.Finally, the high fidelity performance and control software of the broadcast control software are tested. The test results show that the player can work stably and reliably, and can meet the expected design requirements.
