Software-Defined Networking (SDN) refers to a new architecturefor network programmability. SDN architecture technology highlights the separation of the control plane and data plane, and emphasizes the role of software in running networks using the control plane to realize centralized management and deploy the underlying forwarding devices. The service chain is a forwarding technology that guides the packets through the service node in order. The service node is a device which can be a physical device or a virtual device in a network that processes a specific service according to the type of service configured in the service list.In theory, the service chain supports any number of service nodes and network services, but needs to be selected according to the specific needs of the scene. In this thesis, the service chain of engineering practice based on H3C platform contains a single service node and a service function, while the service chain based on the OpenDaylight platform contains multiple service nodes and service functions.Based on H3C platform, Service Chain (SC) module aims to compose modules with a variety of functions in the system, so that can accomplish the task in order, safely and efficiently. The main work of the author includes demand analysis, coding and verifing thefeasibility for SC module.Based on OpenDaylight platform, the author analyzes the scheduling strategies of service functions of the existing service chain system, and proposes two scheduling strategies. One is the scheduling strategy based on Shuffle, and the other one is the scheduling strategy based on priority. Under the premise of the realization of random scheduling strategy, the former do the best to maximize the utilization of all devices that provide service functionality. While the latter meets the needs of the same type of service function being reduced or increased, and can set the priority of the service function at any time to avoid the device from idle. Finally, the author designes the relevant scheduling programs to verify their feasibility.
