This article focused on the different application scenarios of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) airborne base station, and researched the path planning problem of its communication system. By doing the network planning simulation, it evaluated the network performance of UAV airborne base station by adding it to the existing network structure.This article discussed UAV from the deployment to provide the network services process in the community with following aspects.Firstly, this article discussed the path planning algorithm of UAV presented as an auxiliary base station, and established the path planning algorithm based on mixed integer program. The algorithm took the time and loss as a cost function, and modeled the obstacles and constraints that encountered in the environment with mixed integer linear program. To determine the altitude of the UAV, this article studied the relationship between UAV height and coverage radius according to the line-of-sight propagation model. Based on the research, with the same height, the denser of the obstacles were, the smaller the coverage radius would be,and the larger the path loss would happen. Simulation results showed that the path planning algorithm can make the UAV plan the path in real-time different environments.Then, this article studied the UAV under the relay station of path planning algorithm, established a planning algorithm based on Shannon capacity theorem. The algorithm studied the influence of relay position selection and flight speed on the communication quality. The communication strategy is selected considering the relationship between throughput and delay by comparing with direct communication, relay communication and UAV relay communication. Simulation results showed that the throughput time of UAV mobile relay can reach more than double than that of static relay when the permissible delay is large enough. For fixed time delay, the speed of UAVs can achieve greater throughput. The speed of UAVs can achieve greater throughput under the situation of fixed time delay, and in fact the UAV mobile base station had a greater link gain.In the end, this article realized the application of UAV in network planning by using of TD-LTE air base station simulation platform. UAV reached the designated service location at a certain height to provide services for the community by the accordance with the planned path.From the simulation results, the UAV can expand the coverage of the ground infrastructure network, so that the coverage results meet the coverage target. From the capacity simulation results, UAVs improved the capacity of the entire communication system by using its rapid deployment of network and mobility capabilities.
