Ultraviolet(UV)communication,whose transmission is mainly based on the atmospheric particles scattering,is a new type of free space optical communication technology that uses solar blind ultraviolet(200?280nm)light waves.This type of transmission has advantages like strong terrain adaptability,confidentiality,anti-interference,flexible networking,no needs to alignment,etc.It can be used for a variety of close jamming communication environment,serving as an effective supplement to traditional wireless communication systems.In recent years,attention to ultraviolet communications has arisen among related institutions in domestic and abroad,and many institutions have achieved certain scientific research results.These studies mainly focus on building communication systems or channel models,developing more advanced components etc.,less attention has been put on coding method,the system anti-interference ability,the receiver layout,and etc.Relying on the National Natural Science Foundation of China,this paper targets to improve the performance of the UV communication system by studying channel characteristics and lunching experiment of different receiver modes for comparison.Theoretical and experimental analysis is also given.Main work and innovation are as follows:Firstly,this paper induced the developing situation of ultraviolet communication and the issues it was facing.The link modes of line-of-sight and none-line-of-sight were given.Secondly,for the fact that there was no research at home and abroad focused on the correlation characteristic between UV channels,this paper analyzed the channel correlation in UV communication system,illustrated its relationship with the system performance theoretically and experimentally.Thirdly,in order to fill the research gap in UV communication,field experiment was designed to study the noise characteristic in multi-scattering UV channels.At last,designed and built the experiment platform for three different receiver modes.The appropriate offline signal processing was built as well.Both simulation and experimen results showed the fact that in the UV communication system,expanding the detected area of receiver have greater advantage of multi-receiver mode in improving the system performance.
