With the development of broadband services in networks nowadays,monotonous aggregation and carrying of businesses in traditional OTN(Optical Transport Network)networks can not meet the needs of rapid growth of traffics,meticulous scheduling and protection of big broadband businesses.Besides,conventional OTN network can not deal with the configuration and management of global network resources efficiently,since the network architecture is far from flexible and open.These two issues restrict the performances of network seriously and have a great effects on the experience of users' services,therefore it is very urgent to introduce new technologies to alleviate these problems.Pe-OTN(Packet enhanced Optical Transport Network)based on OTN,which has advantages on packet processing,multi-service crossing and unified scheduling,can relieve the pressures on operation and maintenance in OTN to a large extent.And SDN(Software Defined Network),whose core idea is separating logical control and data farwarding,aims at achieving centralized control of network,optimization and management of global resources.For the purpose of solving the problems reffered in the first part,this article focus on a series of researching on Pe-OTN technology as well as SDN,and finishes the following works:(1)Analysis on status techniques of Pe-OTN,and carrying out functional testing on Pe-OTN equipment and networking.(2)Combined with SDN,presenting the idea of introducing SDN controllers to Pe-OTN network on IP traffic Bypass and Large Customer Private Line.Throughout the analysis and summaries of all the businesses and works reffered above,this article reaches the following conclusions:(1)Compared with OTN,Pe-OTN has a great advantages on packet switching,multi-sevice crossing and fine scheduling,because it integrates OTN,Ethernet,MPLS-TP and other network functions.While in terms of function realization,there are some deficiencies in Pe-OTN,and the ability to support centralized control on network equipments and optimization on global resources is far from perfect.(2)By introducing SDN controllers,Pe-OTN can resolve problems refferd above,and realize intelligent network management combining the features of network virtualization and open nature of SDN.
