With the popularity of smart phones and the development of mobile internet,people's demand on location-based-services is increasing,especially in complex indoor environments,such as airport halls,exhibition halls,supermarkets,libraries.At present,the domestic and overseas research fields on indoor positioning technology are including Infrared,Ultrasound,Bluetooth,Wi-Fi,Radio Frequency Identification(RFID),Ultra-Wideband(UWB),magnetic field positioning technology and others.With the development of sensor technology and the popularity of intelligent terminals,most smartphone is equipped with wireless signal receiver and the magnetic field sensor.These hardware can detect electromagnetic signals in the indoor environment,which can be used to help locate the device's position.By analyzing the technology feature and development trend on the existing indoor location technology,this paper puts forward a hybrid algorithm,which relies on electromagnetic signal characteristic,to estimate the people's position with magnetic field strength and Wi-Fi signal fingerprint.This paper briefly describes the basic principles of Wi-Fi location fingerprint technology and magnetic field location technology,and then analyzes the indoor Wi-Fi signal and magnetic field signal performance characteristics.On this basis,by improving the procedures of initializing particle collection and of significance estimation,it provides the procedures of the hybrid positioning algorithm which based on electromagnetic signals.Besides,the paper indicates the design and implementation of an electromagnetic-signal-based indoor positioning system prototype on the Android platform.It conducts several tests at randomly selected locations,then compares the results with the method which only collects one kind of signal to verify the feasibility of this solution.
