In this paper,the author mainly introduces the exploring work on Frequency Selective surface.Its work came from a part of the“863”project.Frequency selective surface is sensitive to the frequency of electromagnetic waves of different frequencies and a kind of two-dimensional array structure with selective permeability of frequency,which can be modeled as a filter with the Radio Frequency port.And various elliptic filters have a filter response with the most steep roll-off curve.In other words,the filter with an elliptical frequency response gets the best frequency selectivity.The author first studied the elliptical response filter design methods by its equivalent circuit.By using the conclusions of this design approach,the choice of frequency response with an elliptical surface design can be guided.The main work of this paper is to design the two novel frequency selective surfaces with an elliptical response and studied their features in the same time.One is under the well-known microwave filter theory,by using the double square loops and gridded square loops type structure coupling to produce the equivalent superposition of elliptical response frequency selective surfaces in order to achieve a simple structure but with high selectivity and in any case with stable incidence pass-band frequency selectivity.Another is enlightened by coplanar waveguide.The frequency selective surfaces considered the RF ports as a filter,realizing great improvement of frequency selectivity and better stability of pass band with a structure of less complexity and a smaller cost of implementation and the structure is also very simple and lightweight.At the same time,the processing technology and method are also explored to fabricate the FSSs according to the designs.Also designing an appropriate test method to test the finished frequency selective surfaces,and make more improvement according to the results of comparative analysis and simulation difference.
