With the development of Software Defined Network,more flexibility,efficiency and programmability are brought to network.However,architecture of Software Defined Network is centralized control,meanwhile,architecture of traditional network is distributed control.The architecture of these two is different.Hence,it is very necessary to solve the interworking problem.between Software Defined Network and traditional network,which can help deploy Software Defined Network in real scene and realize interworking and intercommunication in hybrid network.Compared with other architectures,there are some characteristics in our architecture:(1)To propose hierarchical controlled interworking architecture to fulfill the demand of multi-domain in real scene(2)To control Software Defined Network and manage traditional network depending on global network view consisting of route table and Software Defined Network topology information(3)To expand Address Resolution Protocol table to bond the border between traditional network and Software Defined Network(4)To intercommunicate between traditional network and Software Defined Network via Border Gateway Protocol,which can adapt to real network scene betterThere are two innovations in this paper:(1)Interworking via unified control plane in Software Defined NetworkTo adapt real network scene and keep the architecture and mechanism of traditional network,the control plane in Software Defined Network is expanded,added route module to fulfill route interoperating.And Address Resolution Protocol proxy are expanded to bond the border between traditional network and Software Defined Network.(2)Calculating path via global network viewTo generate end-to-end path depending on route information,Software Defined Network topology information and expanded Address Resolution Protocol information are generated.Furthermore,the control plane can select one option from single-domain Software Defined Network,multi-domain Software Defined Network and hybrid network to calculate path.Lastly,we used OpenFlow switches,traditional routers and traditional switches to create an experimental environment to validate the hierarchical controlled interworking architecture and interworking mechanisms.
