The explosive increase of the number of mobile users and mobile traffic and the emerging of new communication methods(such as mobile social networking,mobile cloud computing,etc.),make mobility management technology has become the focus of research.In order to alleviate the pressure produced by the explosive increase of Internet traffic on the network,the mobile network architecture is evaluating toward a flatter architecture.Distributed Mobility Management(DMM)aims at to allocate network traffic in the optimal way and offers mobility support at a per-fow granularity.DMM can choose different forwarding path for different session anchored in different Mobility Anchor(MA),which realizes the optimization of the data transmission path.Flow based handover method can better adapt to the requirements of flatter network architecture and traffic scheduling and becomes a hot topic in the research of distributed mobility management.This paper is based on existing DMM researches in IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force)and describes the principle and process of typic flow based handover methods.Aiming at the issues of long handover delay,packet loss,non-optimal forwarding path and tunnel overhead produced in existing DMM researches,this paper proposes a route optimization oriented and network-based flow handover method(RO-NFH).The centralized mapping database acts as the proxy for the tunnel established between the new and old MAs and well designed parallel signaling Sequence in the RO-NFH,which can reduce handover delay and packet loss.A routing optimization method based on identifiers resolution and IP address rewritten is also designed.The optimal path transmission for packet flows is realized and tunnel overhead is also reduced by executing address conversion and packets forwarding by the help of MA located in the side of Corresponding Node(CN).Finally,the effectiveness in the performance of mobility handover and packet transmission of the proposed method is verified by comparing with the performance of the typical network-based flow handover method.
