Design And Implementaion Of Unified Notification Service On Paas Platform

In the era of Web2.0,requirements of a web application to push users what they are interested in rather than to ask them to search information have increased quickly.In addition to E-mail,mobile Internet provides more interaction methods,such as short message,instant message,etc.A growing number of developers hope to add various notification services into their applications.Besides,the development of cloud computing especially PaaS has brought significant changes on software development.PaaS refers to Platform as a Service,which provides a deployment and software hosting environment for web applications.With the rapid development of the Internet,PaaS service providers are exploring new business models.They provide capabilities as open services for third-party applications.On the one hand,it could greatly reduce the development labor and simplify the complexity of application development.On the other hand,the usage of these open services would also bring more profits for the PaaS providers.In this context,the open notification service on PaaS platform has become one of the hot research topics in the industry.The shortage of traditional notification services is concluded by the analysis.For example,these systems always lack the consistency of interfaces,the integrity of management strategies and the customization abilities.In order to solve the problems above,unified notification service based on PaaS is brought forward in this paper.This unified notification service provides unified open interfaces which are designed to act in REST manner for third-party developers.And it achieves the goals of unified integration,unified notification strategy and unified pushing channels,which could effectively reduce the workload and complexity of software development of application developers and bring end users more convenience and a better user experience.Firstly,the research background of this paper is introduced.With the basic knowledge of the development of cloud computing and detailed analysis of the shortage of the existing notification systems,the functional and non-functional requirements for unified notification service are brought forward.Secondly,the design and implementation of the unified notification service is specified in detail.In the end,a set of tests and a Java web application development case is introduced to verify the effectiveness of the unified notification service.
