International conflict report is the competition of national identity,the mass media construct the audience's cognition through the media discourse practice,the ideology and power struggle behind the expression.This paper takes the report about the Huangyan Island and south China sea arbitration from four mainstream media,People's Daily,Global Times,the Philippine Daily Inquirer,Manila Bulletin,in China and Philippines as the research object and critical discourse analysis as the main research methods.To explore the characteristics and differences of media reports,we will briefly analysis the type and theme;And then on this basis,the third and fourth chapter,combined with the van Dijk and Fairclough's critical discourse analysis research methods,from the macroscopic and microscopic levels to interpret discourse strategies and the ideology behind;Finally,on the basis of discourse analysis,explore the interaction between media discourse and national identity.This paper argues that in the south China sea dispute in China and Philippine media through the micro level,metaphors and implicit expression of intertextuality and news headlines,the main events in the history of the macro level,evaluation and prediction of discourse practice and social practice crating,the ideology and power operates behind the words.China and Philippine media news discourse strategies construct the different national identity,and distinguish us from them.
