Cooperative spectrum sensing is the key technology that ameliorates the detection performance by using the space diversity gain between different cognitive users. But it will multiply increase energy consumption as more users need participate and more sensing information interaction process will produce. This paper mainly pays attention to energy conservation in cooperative spectrum sensing, and focus on how to report user's sensing result and which user to be selected.First of all,we introduce the basic concepts of cognitive radio and the recent developments of spectrum sensing technology and the basic fusion rules. And then,a redundant result saving algorithm is proposed, which can significantly reduce results that users report to fusion center. This method uses users' history information and relative relation between neighboring time slot. When there are same results in the neighboring time slot, users only need report the first one however the rest won't be reported. These method surely decreases the energy consumption and has been verification through simulation analysis. After that,a fairness based user selection algorithm is proposed. It can make user's probability of participating to sense channel approach to the probability of sending data through dynamically adjust its participating weight. The simulation has proved that this method can not only protect users to participate with fairness but also minimize system energy consumption. Finally,we establish the experimental platform using USRPs on the LINUX and GNU Radio,to gather actual measurement data and prove the correctness of the proposed method.
