With the rapid development of cloud computing and the expanding of the data center,the problem of energy consumption has attracted the attention of the academic and business circles.The switch acts as an important part of the data center and is responsible for the forwarding of the traffic.In the data center,many switches are idle for most of the time,resulting in low resource utilization and significant energy consumption.It has become a hot research topic to optimize the network resource allocation,improve data center resource utilization,and reduce energy consumption.In this thesis,the data center topology uses fat-tree topology,and the switch is based on the input queued Crossbar structure.It mainly studies the energy consumption composition of the switch,the energy saving algorithm,the path selection in the fat-tree and the multicast scheduling algorithm inside the switch.The main work of this thesis is as follows:By analyzing the energy consumption of each part of the switch,this thesis proposes a threelayer energy consumption model of the port-linecard-switch,and the energy consumption of each part is quantized.Based on the three-layer energy consumption model,an energysaving algorithm based on port-linecard-switch(ESPCS)is proposed.ESPCS includes a routing mechanism based on port dynamic switch,queue organization structure based on virtual switch queue(VSQ)and a switch mechanism based on load sensing switch components.According to the congestion in the network,the algorithm achieves the purpose of saving energy by controlling the switches,linecards and ports.The switch uses the classic FIFOMS algorithm as a scheduling algorithm.It has good energy saving effect under different flow model tests.The queue organization structure of the input port of a switch is improved,and the structure is applied to a multicast scheduling with low fan-out(EMLSF)algorithm.Good test results have been obtained both in random traffic model and fixed traffic model.An energy-saving switching algorithm of switch group(SDSG)is proposed.On the basis of pod,this thesis re-groups different levels of switches in the fat tree.The algorithm utlizes random routing as routing mechanism and EMLSF as scheduling algorithm.It achieves the goal of saving energy by switching switches.The aggregation switch adopts the sychronization switch between groups and the core switch adopts independent switch.This can guarantee the performance at a low cost of switches.It has good energy saving effect under different flow model tests.
