Design And Implementation Of Web-based Data Visualization Tool

Big data is changing all aspects of society include education. It can be said that education has entered the era of big data as more and more educational data are collected and stored. It becomes a problem for the general education workers that how to display and analyze educational data quickly and conveniently. The data visualization can transform the abstract data into the graph of the image, which is beneficial to the excavation of the characteristics and rules of the data, therefore, it is of great significance to apply the data visualization technology in the field of education to serve the general education workers. It's an urgent need that a data visualization tool which is easy to use because of lack of professional knowledge and skills of the general education workersFirstly, this paper reviews the research status of data visualization and its application in Education. On this basis we carried on the detailed demand analysis to the tool, especially the functional requirements and business processesSecondly, designed the tool according to the demand analysis, focus on the design pattern of front end and confirmed the design pattern of MVVM and its derived ViewModel.Then, implemented the tool and puts forward some countermeasures to solve the three key technical problems, such as chart encapsulation, interaction and import of special data type.Finally, we carried on functional and performance testing of the tool, the test results shows that the tool of normal operation, stable function, achieve the design goals.In this paper, we designed and implemented a Web-based Visualization Tool by using Angular framework, Handsometable, Echarts, and D3.js. The tool has the advantages of simple operation, support rich data types, meets the teacher's, student's,administrator's and other personnel's demand of visualizing basic educational data,provide a reference to the future development of this kind of data visualization tools.
