As a new type of military communication system, wireless solar-blind ultraviolet communication system can be used as a kind of special local military secret means of communication or a supplement to other communication technology in specific cases with strong anti-interference ability, good confidentiality, the advantages of NLOS communications, and all-round communication. It can satisfy the complex battlefield electromagnetic environment emergency and secure communications needs, it can also be widely used in the army/navy/air force, which has a special value and practical significance for modernization homeland defense and future military struggle. How to realize the modern battlefield communications quickly, accurately, all-weatherly, securely has become an important topic for discussion in the field of military communication study. In this paper,wireless solar-blind ultraviolet communication system will be researched based on LED.First, the paper analyzes the research purpose, significance, communication principle,characteristics, application, and research status of free space ultraviolet. It also explores characteristics and composition of the atmosphere in the atmospheric transmission characteristics, meanwhile, atmospheric turbulence channel transmission characteristics are analyzed through the atmospheric absorption, scattering.Secondly, the new UV LOS communication model is deduced, and based on this model the impact of the path loss, BER, transmission distance of the system is stimulatingly analyzed. On the basis of NLOS communication way, the impacts that different angle, height,number of scattering, visibility and other parameters made on the system model is simulated.Finally, the performance of ultraviolet communication system has been tested, including BER of the LOS communication and the point of view of NLOS communication experiment.The experimental effect is good, basically meeting the design expectations. This topic uses the wavelength of 255 nm UV light, the communication rate of 600 KHZ after the test and within 100 meters of the whole communication system can realize low error rate in LOS communications. In the NLOS communication mode, the improvement of PPM in 200 kHz is selected, which will improve the quality of communication at the expense of giving away bandwidth.
