To meet the ever-increasing demands of the spectrum resource,cognitive radio techniques have been proposed to improve the utilization of licensed spectrum.Through searching the spectrum holes,secondary user(SU)in a cognitive radio network(CRN)can access the spectrum resource intelligently under the condition that SUs cannot interfere with the communication of the primary user network.However,the cognitive characteristic of the CRN introduces new security issues,where the primary user emulation attack(PUEA)is one of the typical attacks.In the PUEA,the attacker emulates the primary user(PU)to transmit the signal to make SU misjudge that the current spectrum is occupied and cannot access the unoccupied spectrum band.In this paper,the detection technologies for the PUEA in the CRN with mobile users are researched.The PUEA detection problem in the CRN with mobile SU is investigated and we propose a hybrid PUEA detection method based on the channel characteristics.In the proposed method,the Doppler spread and the variance of the received signal power between the transmitter and the receiver are utilized to infer the source of the received signal.In the CRN with mobile SU,the Doppler spread between the SU and the PU may differ from that between the SU and the primary user emulator(PUE)because of different relative velocities.But,the performance of the PUEA detection method based on Doppler spread may be affected by the relative position between the SU and the PUE.In order to overcome this effect,we take into account the variance of the received signal power for PUEA detection.The simulation results show that the proposed PUEA detection method has good detection performance.At the same time,the proposed PUEA detection method is validated by the experimental results based on USRP platform.The PUEA detection problem in the CRN with mobile PU,SU and PUE is investigated and we propose a PUEA detection method based on I/Q imbalance.This method takes into account that different direct-conversion transceivers have different I/Q imbalance,and this feature is independent of the motion state of the signal transceivers.Using the false alarm probability and the detection probability as the performance index,the detection performance of the proposed PUEA detection method is analyzed.The simulation results show that the proposed PUEA detection method has good detection performance and is able to solve the PUEA problem in CRN with mobile users.
