Along with the advancement of technology, the electromagnetic environment of the modern battlefield is becoming more and more complex. The traditional single combat equipment can't meet the needs of the operational capability. To improve the overall operational performance of the system, a great deal of electronic equipment is equipped in the combat platform. However, the increase of the electronic equipment can lower the anti-interference ability of the modern weapon equipment system and weaken the overall operational performance of the system to a great extent. The integration of radar and communication system rises in response to the proper time and conditions in this case. The system shares part of the equipments of the radar to achieve the function of the communication. It offers a good solution to the contradictions of the increasing electronic devices and the operational capability.This paper introduces the research status of the integration of radar and communication and the shared signal for radar and communication. And then the similarities and differences of radar and communication are comparedn which offer theoretical basis for the integration system design. Then considering the differences between radar and communication, the issues on how to share some radar equipment to achieve the function of communication are being researched in detail. And the waveform design considerations and requirements for radar and communication are being researched in depth. This paper mainly studies the content as follows:Based on the analysis of the ultra-wideband radar system and ultra-wideband communication system, the integration system scheme for radar and communication based on the Chirp Spread Spectrum is proposed. The basic working process of the integrated system is researched in detail. And the communication modem and the synchronization scheme for the system are exposited with detail. Finally, the performance of the system is analyzed theoretically and the simulation curve is carried out.To meet the needs for radar detection and communication data transmission, the shared signals of radar and communication which is orthogonal are proposed in this paper. The research on how to produce and transmit the integrated shared signal is elaborated in detail.Through deriving the fuzzy function of the integrated shared signal, the impact on the performance is researched. The signal is received by the matched filter at the receiver side to achieve the integrated shared signal. And then the signal is delivered to the radar signal processor and the communication signal processor.At the end of the paper, the simulations are conducted to measure the performance of the radar detection and the communication data transmission. The simulation results show that the integrated signal has less influence on the radar detection and the communication data transmission. As a result, the integrated shared signal for radar and communication to achieve radar detection and communication data transmission is feasible.
