There are many discrete event systems in the transportation industry,manufacturing industry which are the pollar industries in China. The study of discrete event systems is an urgent need for the current social production to achieve high efficiency and low consumption operation. As a typical discrete event system, intelligent storage system is a key link in the logistics system. In this paper, based on the research of intelligent storage system, the optimized pionts were found and an effective optimization scheme is proposed, which are of of great significance to save cost, save resources and enhance social competitiveness.The main research object of this paper is the intelligent storage system of Hunan Electric Power Company's measurement center of the State Grid. Two representative workflows are selected through the investigation and research, namely the new storage flow and the transfer to the warehouse flow, and the allocation of goods as the main research content. Based on Petri net modeling, Arena simulation and genetic algorithm as research methods and tools, the corresponding Petri net model, Arena simulation model and location allocation model were given,and the storage system is evaluated and optimized by analyzing simulation results. Finally, the simulation results showed that the scheme is feasible and effective.The research of intelligent storage system in this paper, objectively evaluates the state of the working process of each link, according to the proposed optimization scheme, increases the production efficiency to a certain extent, finds the best working state of the system operation, and provides a reasonable optimization suggestion for the expansion and development of storage system. Which can be used as a reference for modeling and optimization of other discrete event systems.
