Quasi-optical technology is new hot topic at home and abroad in the field of electromagnetic research.Quasi-optical network system work in the millimeter wave,submillimeter wave and terahertz frequency which between microwave and visible light.With development of quasi-optical technology in recent years,quasi-optical systems and quasi-optical technology have been applied in many fields,such as atmospheric sounding,millimeter wave communications,biomedical research,holographic imaging,topographic detection and other fields.Design of a quasi-optical network system,comprising the following steps:First,modeling and simulating the system by a simulation software at early stage;then make some adjustments based on simulation results and machining this quasi-optical network system;finally,test the processed Quasi-optical systems to guarantee that performance of the system satisfies design requirement.Not difficult to see,a powerful,easy-to-use and accurate simulation software plays a very important role in the early stage of the study and design of quasi-optical systems.Currently,there are some authoritative business softwares for quasi-optical system,one of them is GRASP,which developed by a company called TICRA in Denmark.However,there is a certain gap between domestic simulation software and GRASP in the convenience,accuracy of the calculation results and diversity of model.Based on the background above,this paper primarily dose a lot of software engineering work to design and develop a simulation software(named SiMatrix,and Simatrix is used to represent this software in the below)for quasi-optical system.The main contribution of the software engineering work:First,determine the functional requirements and feasibility analysis of SiMatrix,develop implemented processes of each module,design the framework of the software,and give a specific development plan of the main modules,which ensure software's iterations.Secondly,improve and optimize the two-dimensional quasi-optical algorithm-Gaussian beam diffraction algorithm(DGBA)developed by the laboratory.Based on the new algorithm called three-dimensional Gaussian beam algorithm that we obtain,we have the ability to analyze three-dimensional quasi-network system.At the same time,this paper researches on the three-dimensional quasi-optical systems modeling method,and integrates 3D Gaussian beam algorithms into the software.As a result,SiMatrix has the function of modeling and simulating 3D quasi-optical network system.Finally,add some other important functional modules in SiMatrix,for example,modeling and simulating of shaped mirror,so that the software can add more kinds of models and design the structure that is more complex to meet more design requirements.
