This paper introduces the work undertaken by author in the project of "The Gaussian beam diffraction analysis method Improvement and multi-mirror quasi-optical network system experimental verification". At present, there is lack of rapid and accurate method to analyze the larger size or multi-reflector quasi-optical systems in the millimeter/sub millimeter waveband. And no method can analyze the whole quasi-optical network system. The algorithm studied in this paper is precisely to solve these problems.Based on the synthesis algorithm of Gaussian beam diffraction analysis (DGBA) and periodicity of the moment method (PMM), author designed and implemented three-dimensional quasi-optical system simulation software. This software has the following advantages:simple modeling, quick simulation, enough accuracy to meet the demand and etc. Also this software can help to design basic model of feed, ellipsoidal reflector, hyperboloidal reflector, parabolic reflector and filter, and analyze both near field and far field.This paper first introduces the basic model of quasi-optical system, and then discusses the modeling rules of quasi-optical system in details, which include the characteristics of the overall structure and single elements. In addition, this paper describes some of the classic quasi-optical system analysis methods, such as physical optics method, geometrical optics method as well as DGBA with PMM algorithm. The GRASP software designed by TICRA in Denmark is a good simulation software for reflector antenna analysis. It is based on physical optics method, but the calculation density of this method is too heavy that it is actually not applicable for rapid design. Although geometrical optical method is lack of accuracy, it is suit for design. In contrast, DGBA has good performance not only in the rapid design but also in the accurate analysis.This paper also provides some indications of the software system design and its performance. The code design is omitted due to limited space,.Finally, a detailed simulation example is presented to prove the performance of the software.
