With the developing of Mobile Intelligent Terminal and the increase of intelligent route, there comes the mobile age. WiFi network around everywhere speed up this process, so the research and work on WiFi becomes a hotspot gradually. The pedestrian flow detecting system,which brought up in this thesis, used the probe data that collected by intelligent routers to produce pedestrian flow data. The system proposed by this thesis is different from other systems. It takes advantage of the wide usage of smart phones, uses the smart phone data collected by intelligent routes to analyze and monitor pedestrian flow in dense areas.This way provides a new implementation of pedestrian flow detecting.In this system, probe data was collected through the communication between mobile terminal and access point. Based on the statistics of MAC address from probe data, the unique identifier of a mobile device,the system could analysis some indicators of pedestrian flow. The whole system consists of three main modules, the collecting module on intelligent router, the data analysis platform base on Play framework and front-end module on Web and Android respectively. The collecting module extends basic OpenWrt, do the collection, formatting work and upload. The data analysis platform produces main indicators and also provides restful interface for the front-end. The front-end module satisfies different requirement of Web page and Android native application, shows data in a more intuitive way. By the well interacting among three modules,the whole system reached the goal of detecting pedestrian flow and passed function test and performance test.
