The soft exchange technology is a distribution software system which provides telephone control function and supports multimedia business.VoIP is a voice signal transmission protocol. It can perform voice communication on the Internet or LAN with a low cost. Using the many advantages of soft exchange technology, we can design and develop a VoIP flow simulator. Not only the simulator can stimulate the real communication network, but also send a large amount of flow data through the simulator, used to test the performance of the server. Because the communication scene is more and more complexly as well as the limitations of the rate of ordinary network card, at present, many universal VoIP traffic simulators has does not have the function of stimulating complex communication scenes and carrying out sending a large amount of single package.Aimed at the shortcoming of the universal soft exchange VoIP flow traffic stimulators, the author of the article has thoroughly researched the soft exchange system structure and analyzed the implementation procedure of telephone control function of VoIP simulation calling.Furthermore, combining with the principle of the network card sending packages, the author designed a kind of VoIP traffic simulator which composed of software and hardware. Compared with the universal stimulators, the VoIP traffic simulator has several notable characteristics .First of all, in addition to some general function of the universal simulator, such as voice calls and video calls, the simulator can carry out calling with a virtual IP address, which principal is mainly configures a virtual IP address to the host terminal. Secondly, the stimulator can configure the different IP address to every calls when in the scene of multiple calling. The multiple address calling can provide more realistic simulation of complex communication scene in real life. Finally, in the section of the single package stimulation function,the simulator uses a special way of hardware acceleration, which can achieve a large amount of flow packages sending and implement a major breakthrough on the packages sending rate.According to the design scheme of the simulator, the author of the article has researched and developed the soft exchange VoIP flow simulator, and has tested the simulator of the functionality and performance. According to the results of the testing, the simulator achieved the simulation of complex communication scenes, and implemented a result to improve the performance of sending a single package.
