With the upgrading of optical network scale and capacity,survivability of the network has become especillay important,and the survivability issues have become more complex than ever.Traditional line protection,planar protection has been unable to meet the new demand of multi-failure scenarios,which is common now,the study of the structure and mechanism of protection is gradually developing forward three-dimensional protection direction.Three-dimensional protection mechanism is based on theories of graph and network connectivity redundancy,and can achieve a higher sharing degree of the protection resource.With lower resource redundancy,three-dimensional protection mechanism can solve the contradiction between recovery rate and resource redundancy under multiple-failure scenarios in elastic optical network.To meet the demand of elastic optical networks' survivability issue,which paticullar means multi-failure scenarios,and based on the national 973 project "survivability of large capacity optical network under the multiple fault",this paper's work mainly focus on three-dimensional multi-failure protection mechanism in elasticity Optical networks.Main work and contributions of this paper is contained in the following aspects:(1)Multi-failure protection theory and traditional protecion techniques.Summarize and analyze the causes of network failures and the different scenarios of multi-failure.Study common traditional protection techniques,including line protection and planar protection,bring out their weaknesses against multi-failure.Pointed out that the develop direction of protection/restoration techniques is three-dimensional protection.(2)The protection structure and mechanism of three-dimensional protection.Deeply analyze three-dimensional protection mechanism under multi-failure scenarios.Propose three-dimensional protection structure p-Cube and its corresponding protection/recovery algorithms.Simulation is carried out to show that under similar resource redundancy,three-dimensional p-Cube protection has higher recovery rate than traditional protection mechanism under multi-failure scenarios.The proposed three-dimensional p-Cube protection can solve the contradiction between recovery rate and resource redundancy effectively,which improves the survivability of elastic optical networks.(3)Three-dimensional protection in software-defined elastic optical network.Using software-defined method,this paper implement three-dimensional protection to an OpenFlow-based software-defined elastic optical network.Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of proposed Three-dimensional protection scheme in OpenFlow-based elastic optical network.To implement three-dimensional protection provides viable solution for in software-defined elastic optical network against multi-failure,and is of great value to the survivability issuees of elastic optical networks.
