With the development of communication technology, people needs ad hoc network not only work on the land movement scenarios but also in high-speed movement scenarios. The research of traditional ad hoc network mainly focuses on the land movement scenarios and the speed of nodes is usually less than 200km/h. However, traditional ad-hoc network can't meet the needs of the new scene when the node in high speed motion (motion speed is faster than 7200km/h). This kind of high speed aircraft from hardware design to system resources (computing power,storage capacity and communication ability) are different from the nodes in traditional ad-hoc network. Therefore, the research on the scheme of the high speed ad-hoc network system is put on the agenda. This paper is based on the research of this kind of demand and goal.Firstly, this paper analyzes the development of current situation in traditional ad hoc networks and summarizes the classical protocols of each layer based on the hierarchical structure. On this basis, we study the special requirements of nodes with high speed motion and discusses the existing classic protocol performance in these special conditions.Considering the directional antenna is one of the important technologies that can improve the node communication distance and network bottleneck capacity, this paper proposes to use directional antennas as a physical transmission device in a high-speed ad-hoc network architecture based on the theory and existing directional antenna access technology. On the other hand, this paper proposes to use switched antenna and multi-interface technology to composition the basic framework in order to solve the deaf problem and use AODV route discovery protocol in router layer and TDMA protocol in MAC layer to composition the high speed ad-hoc network structure system. This structure can make the physical layer gain higher gain and alleviate deafness.Finally, we build a high speed networking model in NS-2 simulation platform on the basis of summarizing the currently popular simulation platform. Then we simulate the performance of the networking model in four different scenarios under different load. The simulation results show that the system can support the communication of high speed nodes, multi hop transmission and nodes can organize the network successfully after node leaving or entering.
