In modern society, with the emergence of numerous smart devices, the users' demand for mobile network bandwidth is experiencing an unprecedented growth. The rapid growth of applications such as video streaming and multimedia file sharing has driven the evolution of cellular systems. In the next decade, the next generation cellular networks will move toward higher data rates and greater capacity. Therefore, 3GPP (3rd Generation Partner Project) organization began the standardization process of Device to Device (D2D) communication technology, which has completed the user equipment to the network(UE-to-Network) and V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) part of the standardized specifications. In this thesis, we mainly study the relay selection and radio resource management in the D2D communication system. First of all,the research background, significance, research status and the application scenarios of D2D are introduced. Secondly, some key technologies of D2D communication are introduced. Then, the signaling flow of UE-to-Network relay communication in D2D communication is designed, and different schemes are designed according to the participation degree of the base station. After that, a D2D simulation platform is built according to the simulation requirements in 3 GPP TR 36.843. A two-step resource allocation algorithm based on graph in full-duplex cellular network is studied, and the simulation results are given. Finally, a simulation platform of V2V is built according to the simulation requirements in 3GPP TR 36.885. The static and dynamic resource allocation algorithms are studied in the Manhattan scenario of V2V communication, and the simulation results are given. The research of this thesis is close to the standardization of the D2D communication technology and V2V communication technology in 3 GPP. The two-step resource allocation algorithm based on graph in D2D communication can improve the system performance effectively while guarantee the QoS of cellular users. The static and dynamic resource allocation algorithms in V2V communication can effectively improve the packet reception ratio.
