With the development of wireless communication technologies, people are seekingfor higher speed of wireless transmission and better quality of services. But due toconstraints of mobile terminals'size and power, the applications of MIMO technologyhave been restricted. The emergence of cooperative communication technologyprovides a practical way for the applications of MIMO technology. It enablessingle-antenna mobile teminals to share their antennas by forming a virtual MIMOmultiple-antenna array. Cooperative communication technology can improve theperformance of communication system by using the space resource fully, such asincreasing channel capacity and data transmission rate, reducing the influence ofchannel fading and the probability of system outage, and improving the service qualityand reliability. Therefore cooperative communication technology has become one of theactive research areas in wireless communication.This paper mainly discusses the topics of cooperative relay selection, relaytransmission scheme and relay resource allocation in cooperative communicationsystem. Firstly, the basic principles of wireless channel, diversity technique andcooperative communication are described. Then, based on the study of existingcooperative communication technologies, we propose an adaptive cooperative relaytransmission scheme and a cooperative relay node selection algorithm which is on theprinciples of fairness and conflict-avoidance. The simulation results show that theadaptive cooperative relay transmission scheme can obtain a much lower bit error rateand much higher throughput. Finally, based on the game theory, this paper introducesNash equilibrium criterion to solve the problem of resource allocation in cooperativecommunication system. Simulation results show that the proposed strategy caneffectively improve the performance of relay resource allocation and achieve anequilibrium state between benefit and cost among all nodes.
