Wireless multi-hop networks are becoming a new attractive communication paradigm.Routing protocol design is critical to the performance and reliability of wireless multi-hop networks.Traditional routing protocols usually choose the best route for each pair of the source and destination before forward the packets follow this route hop-by-hop until reach the destination.Considering the dynamic changes of the wireless link, the traditional routing protocols don' t work very well in the real communication environments.By taking advantage of the broadcast nature of wireless transmission, the opportunistic routing can solve the problem of dramatic changes of the wireless link.Research on wireless multi-hop network routing protocol has become a mainstream direction in home and abroad. The main idea of opportunistic routing is delivering the message to the destination by building the most effective candidate set of forwarding nodes by reasonable criterion and the cooperation of the candidates at the network layer. The idea of the cooperation strengthens the link stability and it performances perfect when the communication environment of the wireless link is unstable. In this paper,we propose a cooperative collision avoidance of network layer scheme for multi-hop ad hoc networks referred to as SOR In SOR,two forward lists(FL)which contain the candidate forwarders are generated to take advantage of path diversity, mitigate the redundant packets in the network and adapt to higher traffic rate.In order to further reduce the collision,we utilize the repeated packets forwarded by the candidate forwarders as confirmation. With simulations in NS-2 platform of several traffic rates and various channel quality, the superiority of SCAN is verified over traditional routing protocol(AODV)in throughput,end-to-end latency, packet delivery rate and adaption to bad channel state.
