In order to meet the demand for global mobile communications in the next 10 years,ITU launched the IMT-Advanced project which performs better than the IMT-2000 mobile communication system.As a further enhancement technology of LTE,LTE-Advanced was recognized as one of the two technical standards of IMT-Advanced.MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output)is one of the key technologies in LTE-Advanced system because it can increase the capacity and quality by exploiting space resources fully.But the data detection becomes a great challenge to the receiver with the application of MIMO technology.Therefore,how to complete the detection of the MIMO signal with low complexity and high performance has become a key point in the field of MIMO technology.This thesis focuses on the investigation of the detection algorithm of MIMO for IMT-Advanced system.First of all,this thesis briefly introduces the IMT-Advanced system and its two technical standards.Also,the key technologies and the structure of physical layer in LTE-Advanced system is studied.Secondly,the link simulation platform of LTE-Advanced is introduced.Then,the commonly used detection algorithms of MIMO system are researched and analyzed.In order to get higher performance,QRM-MLD and an improved QRM-MLD detection algorithm based on pre-ordering and adaptive control of surviving symbolreplica candidates are proposed.Finally,all detection algorithms of MIMO system are simulated based on the link simulation platform of LTE-Advanced system.The simulation results of different detection algorithms show that QRM-MLD and the improved QRM-MLD can get better performance in the case of low SNR while the advantages of QRM-MLD and the improved QRM-MLD is not obvious due to the limitation of surviving candidates in the case of high SNR.Meanwhile,this thesis also researched the transmission modes with different antenna configurations and made some recommendations to upgrade the network.
