Research On Guarantee The QoE Of Video Applications Over WLAN

WLAN works as one of the wireless video access technologies since its advantages of high stability,convenient access,etc.characteristics.But the current WLAN network can’t satisfy the quality requirements of users in mobile video services with the continuous improvement of users’.This thesis focuses on the video business of WLAN network,starting from the network handoff and network traffic offload,aiming to guarantee video service QoE,designed and implemented an efficient network handoff and network traffic offload strategy.The main work of this thesis is as following.In terms of network handoff,according to the characteristics of the mobile video services,mobile video service QoE method of evaluation and model are researched.Based on the video service QoE evaluation model,a dynamic scanning strategy of adjacent regions list was proposed,which can greatly reduce the terminal handoff delay between the APs when roaming and has the characteristics of low complexity.In addition,in order to ensure the prediction accuracy of handoff,based on the characteristics of mobile terminal and the Received Signal Strength,an RSS filtering algorithm was proposed,which effectively avoid the signal fluctuate caused by noise,so as to improve the prediction accuracy of handoff.On the basic of the reduction of the handoff delay,the network selection strategy was proposed based on QoE,according to the business of video quality evaluation model,the network selection algorithm was set up based on QoE to secure the video service QoE.On the traffic offload aspect,for traffic offload balancing problem,QoE optimized offload strategy was proposed through the models of base station and WLAN access point.This strategy can guarantee the premise of mobile video service QoE,maximize the system offload welfare and ensure the validity and fairness of the offload.
