The WebRTC has been open source by Google since 2011. A variety of Web applications based on WebRTC grows rapidly. There have been more and more browsers supporting WebRTC.People can have a video chat easily via opening a browser and inputing the netaddress and save the installation of a specific platform app. In the background of the mobile Internet, the development of WebRTC in the mobile terminal is relatively slow, there is not an application based on WebRTC can support Web and other mobile devices. This thesis focuses on the communication problem between heterogeneous terminals based on WebRTC. We simulated video conferencing as the usage scenario: the members of different terminals can join the same conference room to have a video chat with other terminal.In this thesis, combining the characteristic of WebRTC transmission end to end, we apply it to the video conference system environment and design an implementation plan. We choose XMPP as the signaling transport protocol,as well as the Jingle protocol as the session control protocol, and we use the interface provided by WebRTC to collect?transmit and playback the local audio and video streams. In each video conference, there is a P2P channel for transmissing medium flow between client and the server, the P2P data channel is different from the XMPP channel. The server relays the media stream sent by the client to the other members of the room.According to the design of this thesis, we build the server and develop the Android client application, and we complete the video conference system successfully. There will be the detailed design and implementation of Android client application in this thesis. Finally, we test the system packet loss rate?delay time and frame rate of this system through the comparative analysis of the data. We found that WebRTC technology can deal with fluctuation of the internet and meet the requirements of the video conferencing system.It also has low delay. All of this verifify the feasibility of this scheme.
