With the rapid development of the Internet,more and more real-time services were transferred.These services demand higher requirements in bandwidth with low delay,and no jitter.How to improve the quality of this services is worth studying.And the performance of traffic management of the network equipment may directly affect the quality of service of end users.First of all,this paper researches the architecture of distributed high performance router,including the architecture of hardware and software system and the relationship between each plane.And it studies characteristics and structure of NP(network processor)and the system structure of the data plane system.Then,from the reality of network,this paper focuses on the technology of QoS traffic management under DiffServ model,including flow classification,metering and marking,shaping,congestion avoidance and scheduling algorithm.Due to the common QoS service cannot meet the requirement of operators which can provide differentiated,fine quality services for users,so the principle and key technology hierarchical QoS are studied.Then,based on the study of the principle of QoS technology,this paper mainly studies the scheme design of the traffic management based on NP in high-end router.It researches on the hardware platform of the high-end router.The characteristics and traffic management module of NP chip are studied to make a system design of QoS traffic management.Then on the drive platform of high-end router,this paper makes a specific traffic management scheme based onNP,including key technologies of QoS and hierarchical QoS.At last,the new traffic management scheme of high-end routers based on NP is tested and verified.And the test results show that the scheme provided in this paper can not only solve theses problems about the internal congestion of high-end routers reasonably,but also can meet the requirement of quality of service for users' services.And to a large extent,it improves the integral performance of high-end routers.
