Fingerprint identification technology is a biometric identification technology which is widely studied currently. With the fingerprint's characteristics of uniqueness and lifelong invariance, the technology has high reliability and stability. Meanwhile, compared with other biometric identification technologies, the fingerprint identification technology gets data more easily and has higher accuracy. It is because of these characteristics that the fingerprint identification technology gains more and more concerns and studies.This paper analyses the algorithms of fingerprint image preprocessing, fingerprint feature point extraction and feature point matching which are needed in the process of fingerprint identification by collecting domestic and foreign research results about the fingerprint identification technology. On this basis, realized the above algorithm on the DSP in the form of programming and simulated the 'corresponding algorithm; and then designed the hardware system by useing TMS320VC5509A DSP as the control center and using FPC1011F fingerprint devices to collect fingers; finally the related algorithms mentioned are verified and applied in the system by applying the fingerprint identification control software in the system, and then completed the design of the fingerprint identification system.While realizing the contents above, the paper proposes removing the image segmentation operation in the process of image enhancement and introduces real time detection algorithm for fingerprint input based on FPC1011F. In the end, comprehensive tests are made on the fingerprint identification system. The results show that this fingerprint identification system achieves the desired. goal.
