As the energy shortage problem is becoming increasingly prominent, people pay more attention to how to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy waste. As a new and clean storage can,flywheel can technology has attracted more and more researchers. Flywheel energy storage system is a typical electromechanical integration system composed of mechanical system and control system.In this paper, the experimental prototype of 600Wh flywheel energy storage system is studied as the research object .The digital control system of magnetic bearing is studied in order to design the control system which is fast response, good control performance and economical application.First, this paper introduces the composition and principle of the electromagnetic bearing system, the function of each part is analyzed. The mathematical model of the single degree of freedom electromagnetic bearing control system is established, and the transfer function of the control system of the magnetic bearing is derived. A MATLAB simulation model is established to discuss the effects' of different PID control parameters on the equivalent damping and equivalent stiffness.Then the operation principle of the switching power amplifier is introduced, and its topology structure, modulation method and control strategy are analyzed. This paper introduces the design of the two level PWM switching power amplifier circuit structure,efficiency and ripple, etc., and the power amplifier experiment, testing its performance.Then it introduces the structure of the digital control system and the monitoring system of the magnetic bearing, and introduces the hardware and software of the two aspects. Digital control system hardware design includes DSP processor, A/D and D/A conversion circuit,DSP and peripheral interface and so on, digital control system software design, including the selection of control strategy, parameter selection, control algorithm and program realization.The monitoring system includes the selection of the hardware of the NI board and the preparation of the LAB VIEW program.Finally each part of the electromagnetic bearing system of joint debugging, the successful completion of the electromagnetic bearing static suspension and the different speed of experiment. The experimental results show that electromagnetic bearing control system meets the design requirements.
