Geometry correction and edge blending are the key techniques of the multi-projector system. Geometric correction solves the problem of distortion due to the deformation while images are projected onto the screen. Edge blending solves the problem of high brightness in overlapping areas generated by different projectors among adjacent channels. After a processing of geometric correction and edge blending, a projection screen with overall consistency and no distortion can be obtained.Among the existing geometric correction methods, besides expensive auxiliary equipment, the automatic geometric correction method based on the feedback of cameras needs a complex correction for the camera; the manual geometric correction has a cumbersome process for adjustments and costs a lot of time the parametric geometric correction method has difficulties in obtaining the data of shape and position about the screen. In order to solve the above problems, this paper, due to the analysis of the source and different conditions of distortions, proposes a geometric correction method based on separated distortion directions to solve the geometric distortions of multi-projector system. With using straight lines in the vertical direction and Bezier curves in horizontal direction as correction lines, and by the process of the adjustments for correction lines, the computing of Intersection points' coordinates, the calculation of control points and texturing, the method in this paper has obtained a good effect on geometric correction. Moreover, it is simple in operation and low in cost. This paper also does some work on edge blending methods, and has completed the design and implementation of the multi-projector system for arc screen. The system is good at image display and real-time through the use of shader and pixel buffer.
